Located on Historic Federal Hill, The Blue Grotto has offered traditional Italian cuisine throughout its 26-year history. The wine list has more than 400 selections, and 35 are available by the glass. There are new windows that open out to the street for warm summer evenings. All the pasta, including lobster ravioli, which contains chunks of lobster meat, are made in house.

I don't usually write reviews, and I typically never write a good review; but I LOVE this restaurant and have always had the most wonderful experience. We are not part of the rich and famous; yet I have always felt like the most important person in the room. From the genuine friendly greeting at the door to the smile and welcome from the service staff and management, I felt like I belonged there. Try to make the Blue Grotto more than your special occasion restaurant; I think everyone deserves it. Everyone deserves to be treated like they belong, to be served great food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere and to be appreciated for your business. It is one of the greatest reason’s to go to The Blue Grotto instead of so many other options out there; I always feel valued and I will always come back.

PROVIDENCE - There couldn’t have been a nicer surprise on a cold winter night than being greeted by a warm fire as we were seated next to one of the two fireplaces in the main dining room at the Blue Grotto on Federal Hill.
Although there wasn’t any crackle nor scent of burning wood from the gas fire, it was only the first of many happy surprises as we sampled the menu. (Full review)
