Providence’s Bay Colony Dog Show is one of the nation’s largest American Kennel Club (AKC) dog events, moving to the R.I. Convention Center after 100 years in Boston. Sponsored by Pedigree, the show runs Dec. 3-6, 2009 and welcomes 8,000 competitors and 20,000 spectators and holiday vendors. The show is managed by three AKC purebred clubs: Middlesex County Kennel Club, Ladies Dog Club, and Eastern Dog Club.

Hours are 8a-5p; tickets $12 adults/seniors, $7 kids. www.baycolonydogshow.com.
