Rush Hour - Modern Dance With Nikki Carrara

Modern Dance with Nikki Carrara Wednesday, 6:00-7:30 PM Nikki's thoughtful and challenging adult Modern dance class is a synergy of contemporary movement techniques. If you've never taken a Modern class, but have experience with ballet or jazz, you'll feel right at home here. We begin with a consistent and effective warm up that prepares you for a cumulative movement phrase. Phrases are often repeated over several classes to give you a chance to really dance them. Class ends with a cool down stretch. Nikki Carrara is a dancer/choreographer living in Providence. With Peter Deffet, she directs DoubleShift Dance Theatre, which recently received funding from the Ri State Council for the Arts. Since graduating from Rhode Island College in 2004, Nikki has traveled throughout nationally to perform. She has danced with and for several regional choreographers, including Nathan Andary, Tovah Bodner, Kee Chin, Peter Deffet, Daniel McCusker, Melody Ruffin Ward, and Tim Rubel. Nikki currently teaches modern, ballet, tap, and composition at Fusionworks Dance Academy, Glocester Dance Academy, Perishable Theatre, and the JMW High School for Visual and Performing Arts. The Rush Hour Dance and Fitness Series $13 to drop in or $60 for six class punch card. Our staff is bursting with busy, busy people, so we thought, "wouldn't it be great to work out right here at the theatre?" And Rush Hour was born. All classes are ongoing-join anytime! The punch cards can be used for any class in the series and they never expire. What could be more convenient?
