Randy Newman

Randall Stuart “Randy” Newman born November 28, 1943 in Los Angeles California, a well known singer/songwriter, composer, and pianist who is notable for his many film scores. In Newman’s outstanding career spanning over four decades, he has Released 15, and scored 26 Films between 1970 and 2009.
Since the 1980s, Newman has worked mostly as a film composer. His film scores include Ragtime, Leatherheads, James and the Giant Peach, Meet the Parents and Seabiscuit. He has scored five Disney-Pixar films: Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc. and Cars, and is set to return for Toy Story 3 and Cars 2.
He has been singled out for a numerous awards and nominations by his colleagues including 17 Academy Award® Nominations (1991-2007) Winning in 2002 for Original Song- “If I Didn’t Have You” – Monsters Inc., two Emmy Awards®, one in 1991 for Achievement in Music and Lyrics - Cop Rock, and again in 2004 for Main Title Theme Music ("It's a Jungle out There") - Monk.
Newman received 12 Grammy Nominations (1983- 2007) Awarded four Grammy Awards® for Song Written for Motion Picture or Television - "The Time Of Your Life" - A Bug's Life (2000), "When She Loved Me" - Toy Story 2 ( 2001), "If I Didn't Have You" - Monsters, Inc. (2003), "Our Town" - Cars (2007) and 6 Golden Globe Nominations (from 1982-2000)
Newman has also won four Annie Awards between 1996 and 2007 and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002, later inducted as a Disney Legend in 2006.
