He used to be part of Simon and Garfunkel with Paul Simon in 1963 and split up in 1964, and then reunited when "The Sound of Silence" was released from their previous album became a big hit on the Billboard charts. They released four more albums in that decade. They split again in 1970 after their release of "Bridge over Troubled Water"
Art pursued an acting career in the 70's and made an appearance in the movie "Catch-22" and "Carnal Knowledge", along with a few other films. He has also released a few solo albums with hits like, "I only Have Eyes for You" and "Bright Eyes". He reunited with Paul Simon in 1975 and released another hit called "My Little Town" and also supplied backup vocals for the cover of Same Cooke's "(What a) Wonderful World" in 1977
